This new year began with an unimaginable loss for my mom. Ron, who was like a stepdad to me and my brothers and my mom’s partner, recently passed away suddenly. He was a huge part of our lives, and his passing has left my mom not only heartbroken but also facing a very uncertain future. They shared everything—both emotionally and financially—and now my mom is left to navigate this difficult time on her own.

Ron was the only one working, and with his sudden loss, my mom is now responsible for all the living expenses they used to split. On top of the grief, she’s facing the reality of bills piling up and the need for counseling to help her cope. It’s overwhelming, and I want to do everything I can to support her as she tries to rebuild her life.
