My husband is the heart of our family—a hardworking, selfless man who is not only a loving husband, but also a devoted father to three and a proud grandfather to four. Just a few months ago, we were celebrating his return to work after a long, difficult year of recovery from an unexpected stroke. That year was filled with hospital stays, countless doctor appointments, and therapy sessions, but through it all, he remained positive and determined to get back on his feet. We finally felt some of the financial stress begin to lift as he was able to work again, even if only for a short time.

 Then, our world was turned upside down once more. He was recently diagnosed with stage 3 tongue cancer. The doctors have told us he cannot return to work until he completes a long road of procedures, radiation, and chemotherapy—at least four months without income. Watching my usually goofy, light-hearted husband break down in tears when he heard the news was absolutely devastating. It’s hard to put into words how much this has shaken our family, especially after everything he’s already overcome.

 Any donations we receive will go first toward his mounting medical bills: the biopsy, surgery, reconstruction, feeding tube, radiation, and chemotherapy. If we are fortunate enough to raise more, we will use the funds to help cover our rent, utilities, and groceries during this difficult time.
