<div>My dad’s health took a turn for the worse in 2024, and since then, it’s been a long and difficult road for both of us. It started when he had to get a pacemaker put in because he had heart block—this was a shock and happened out of nowhere. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with COPD, which only added to the recovery process. Not long after, we realized he was going to have a hard time working and took us on the journey of trying to get disability.

<div>We were preparing for surgery this year, hoping it would bring him some relief to the back pain he started experiencing, but then he developed diverticulitis and an abscess in his stomach. Because of this, he was in the hospital for three weeks, and that caused us to deplete all of our savings. We’ve also had to turn to other family for help, but all of those resources have now gone dry. Now, it will take a month or two to recover financially. All of these health problems have taken a toll on his mental health, and the stress has been overwhelming for both of us. I’ve been doing everything I can to support my dad, but it’s been hard to keep up with daily living expenses. My income just isn’t enough to cover everything, and his disability payments don’t stretch far enough.

<div>We’re doing our best to stay positive and keep moving forward, but it’s been a real struggle to make ends meet while making sure he gets the care he needs. I appreciate any and all support, even if it’s just a prayer. My dad and I both understand that everyone is facing their own challenges right now, but whatever you can give means the world to us.
