<div>In July of 2024 my entire department was eliminated. I was laid off. I had very little savings and though I knew it was coming and had been looking for a job, nothing had turned up. Now here we are February of 2025 and my savings (and unemployment) are depleted and I still don't have a job despite countless applications, a few interviews, and even inside connections at places.

<div>My phone will be shut off soon if I can't get money to pay it, my cat and I face eviction at the beginning of March if we can't somehow raise the funds to cover rent.

<div>I'm terrified. I've been homeless before (this is the place that got me out of homelessness). And as a queer person this world is already terrifying. The idea of being homeless and losing everything I have is devastating enough, but being a homeless queer person in today's society could be literally life threatening.

<div>Making a gofundme was the last thing I ever wanted to do, but I didn't have a choice. Without assistance I'm going to lose everything, again, and I genuinely don't know if my mental health can handle that. I'm already spending everyday in deep panic. I feel like if I can just get March rent paid and February's bills covered I might be able to be ok. I've started doing writing commissions and they've at least kept food on my table, but that's it.

<div>If you have anything at all to spare I would be so incrediby grateful. I'm desperate as I don't want to lose my home or have to give up my cat. Both mean the world to me.
