Help My 67-Year-Old Brother Fight Colon Cancer
My 67-year-old brother - Danilo Yu, has been courageously battling colon cancer. He began radiation treatment in January 2025 and completed 10 rounds of chemotherapy (both IV and oral) in December 2025. Despite his strength and determination, we recently learned that the cancer is no longer responding to chemotherapy.
His doctor has advised that surgery is now urgently needed to prevent the cancer from growing back more aggressively. His surgery is scheduled for March 4, 2026.
Since he began treatment,We have been doing everything we can to support him financially. While we are receiving some government discounts, the medical expenses remain overwhelming. Between hospital bills, medications, laboratory tests, and daily living expenses during treatment, the costs continue to rise.
We are humbly asking for any financial assistance you can provide to help cover his surgery and ongoing medical needs. No amount is too small — and if you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping him in your prayers would mean so much to us.
**Health Update**
March 4, 2026: The laparoscopic surgery was completed and he was stable afterward.
March 5, 2026: His condition started to decline. He had to be placed on oxygen because his heart rate was dropping, and the doctors gave him epinephrine.
March 6 (evening): In the evening, he vomited twice with green secretions and developed abdominal bloating. The doctors also had to insert an NGT (nasogastric tube) to prevent aspiration.
March 7 (morning): The doctors had to perform another surgery and reopen the area. They discovered he had developed sepsis caused by a thrombosis at the colostomy connection. The doctor explained that his age also contributed to this complication. They repaired the area and created another stoma to fix the issue.
Because of these complications, his recovery will take longer. Originally, the colostomy was expected to last about 3 months, but now the doctors estimate it may need to stay in place for at least a year while he heals.
Thank you to everyone who continues to pray, support, and share our fundraiser. Your kindness means so much to our family.
