I am living with Systematic Lupus Erythematosus. The Latin word for lupus is wolf. Just like a wolf, lupus hides and then strikes which makes life unpredictable. It impacts my kidneys, joints, hair, skin, heart, vision and gives me brain fog. I am in pain daily and facing challenges that come with the daily life of a person with lupus. I have other co-occurring medical issues which make living with lupus even more overwhelming. Currently I have been battling vision issues, a horrific bout with costochondritis, under care of kidney specialist for lupus nephritis-kidney failure, as well seeing a cardiologist. I received medical grant for a few upcoming test, but it won't cover all the additional expenses. With each appointment I am accumulating more medical debt. This recent flare up along added several thousand to my stress. As those of you who know me know, I WORK a lot. However, no amount of jobs can cover all that having lupus cost me on a regular basis for proper care. Plus, my fatigue and exhaustion level zaps my energy pretty quickly these days. With and without insurance lupus is financially exhausting. Thank you for your help and prayers.
