A time to help…..
As we start a new year we often reflect on what is most important in our lives, and our families health is at the top of my list.
We have a wonderful local family who could benefit emotionally and financially from our support. RJ Dziedzic and Cindy Hein's daughter Kylie was diagnosed in September with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Some of you may know Kylie, and for others this maybe your first time hearing. Kylie is the 15 year old step daughter to RJ Dziedzic, granddaughter of Randy and Liz Dziedzic and great granddaughter to Kasmer and Pearl Dziedzic.
Every week, sometimes twice a week, Kylie’s mom Cindy takes her to Cancer Care in Winnipeg from their farm in Inwood for treatment. She receives chemo and spends anywhere from a few hours to the entire day there. To combat the drugs she receives lots of fluids to help her kidneys and has had to receive blood transfusions. While RJ is working full time, mom Cindy needed to take this time to focus on Kylie’s health. Although mom receives EI (55% of her salary) this has been a financial hit to their family. And then add the expense of parking at the hospital, gas to and from Inwood, food while in the city, and a babysitter for one year old baby brother. Kylie has a long road ahead of her, she needs 9 months of treatments so this will continue until July or August.
With RJ and Cindy’s approval, am I writing to you to ask for your support. We are collecting monetary donations for the family to help with their expenses while Kylie is undergoing her cancer treatments.
We all face difficult times in our lives but nothing can prepare us for a child receiving a diagnosis of Cancer. There may be very little we can do for Kylie, but I know the love and prayers can only help. I thank you in advance for any contribution you can give.
