Support for the Knutson family

Update 9 AM Jan 11th:
Colton was discharged out of the hospital on the weekend and will be flying home today. He is healing up very well and is incredibly lucky! He will have some long term pain/loss of motion, but will hopefully continue to improve in the coming weeks. Thank you everyone for your generosity, it will be a while until he can return to his life before the accident.

Update 10 AM Jan 3rd:
Colton is awake and still in considerable amounts of pain. He is hoping to eat something today and maybe be able to move around a bit with the help of the physiotherapists. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him and the surgeon had said there will be some long term motor function limitations but we are waiting until the swelling goes down to see how he does. Thank you so much for all of your donations and help that has been offered. Words cannot express our gratitude.

Update 10 AM Jan 2nd:
After a 12 hour surgery Colton is awake and off the ventilator! It sounds like he is doing well from what the doctors have said and we are hoping to hear from him today once he is more lucid. Thank you all so much for your generosity!!

Update at 8 pm January 1st: Colton is still in surgery but they called and let Jordyn know that he is out of the woods for long term spinal damage!! They are currently flipping him over and will start working on fusing his spine. We will know more once the surgery is completed but so far it has been great news.

Thank you so much to everyone for your support. Colton will be able to relax and heal without worrying about being away from work thanks to all of your generosity.

Colton Knutson was in a snowmobile accident on Thursday Dec 31st around 10 am in his community of Snow Lake, Manitoba. This accident resulted in him fracturing his C7 vertebrae and required him to be taken by ambulance to The Pas and later that evening flown to Winnipeg for emergency surgery.

He is currently undergoing a 10-12 hour surgery to fuse his spine which will hopefully repair the nerve compression in both of his arms and result in no loss of motor function in his arms and legs. Due to Covid-19, his family is unable to visit him in the hospital and he will be recovering in the hospital alone.

Colton, his wife Jordyn and their three young children live in a remote community where they rely on wood for their main source of heat in a home that requires significant upkeep.

Colton will be off work for the foreseeable future and is unable to support his household. The money raised from this campaign will assist them in purchasing wood for their home and supplement their income while Colton (the sole provider) is off work.

The family will be updating this Go Fund Me as more information is known about Colton's condition and recovery.

Thank you for your generosity in helping them through this difficult time.
