Support Kenneth's Lifesaving Medical Treatment

Our beloved family member Kenneth Villa has suddenly fallen ill with Tuberculosis. In order to save his life, we are starting this GoFundMe to raise money to be able to afford his medical treatment. Once he is well enough to be cleared for travel, we plan on flying him back home to the Philippines where his continued treatment will be more affordable and where he can be surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.

KENNETH'S STORY

Kenneth came to Canada 4 months ago hoping to establish roots for a new life. Sadly, due to an extremely unfortunate and abrupt emergence of Tuberculosis, his journey has been cut short. For the past 3 weeks, Kenneth has been lucky enough to have his life saved by the generous doctors and nurses at Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital. Through countless tests and agonizing periods of waiting, Kenneth and his relatives, Reza and Tom Lowell, finally received his initial diagnosis. His time spent in the hospital was thankfully covered by his travel insurance. However, this insurance reached its capacity before treatment could be completed, tragically preventing him from being able to return home to the Philippines.

The longer he remains in Canada untreated, the more pain and suffering he will endure for weeks and even months to come, not to mention the risk of life, as well as the financial debts and stress that are bound to accumulate during this time without the financial assistance that OHIP or insurance would provide. Your donations, no matter how big or small, would bring great relief to Kenneth and his family, and will be used to cover Kenneth's much needed treatment enough for him to return home to the Philippines. Any remaining funds will continue to cover the extensive recovery process that this illness requires, and will help subsidize the financial toll it will take on Tom and Reza from being unable to work while caring for Kenneth.
