Hi, my name is Heather Nettles, and I’m fundraising for my uncle, John Bennett Jr. Right now, he’s starting his third radiation treatment for prostate cancer. The treatment itself is tough, but what’s hitting just as hard is everything that doesn’t pause when life gets scary—rent, utilities, insurance, car payment, groceries, and all the normal monthly bills that keep the lights on.
Even though his radiation will end soon, his recovery won’t be instant. He’s going to be down and out for a while, and he won’t be able to return to work the way he normally would for the next six months to a year. The reality is: you can’t “positive mindset” your way past rent and electric. We’re asking for support to help cover his basic living expenses during treatment and recovery, including housing, utilities, transportation costs, groceries, and medical-related costs that are not fully covered.
Every donation helps, and if you can’t donate, sharing this makes a real difference. If you’ve ever watched someone you love go through cancer, you know it’s not just a health battle—it becomes a financial one too. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping my uncle get through this chapter with less stress and more stability. With gratitude, Heather Nettles
