Support for Joelle and Her Fight Against COVID19

Joelle is a sweet and loving 12 year old who was diagnosed with COVID-19 the week of July 13th.  She was admitted to the ER on July 16th with a high fever that would not break and worsening symptoms. Two days later she was transferred to the ICU at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

In the last 24 hours, her lung x-rays show her pneumonia is getting worse, an EKG shows damage to her heart and her kidneys are not functioning as they should. She is showing signs of MIS-C (Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children) which is a rare, but serious complication associated with COVID-19 and has been put on Remdesivir - an antiviral medication.  

Joelle's Mom, Marissa, is not allowed to leave her room, due to hospital policy for COVID patients, until Joelle is discharged. She is a single Mom and has another child at home being cared for by her own Mom. She is unable to work during this time and needs to go onto short-term disability/FMLA. 

With the cost of a 5 day course of Remdesivir being upwards of $3,000, uncertainly of when she can return to work, needing to support her Mom and other child at home and increasing medical bills, Marissa could use some financial support to ease the overwhelming burden she is facing. (She was hesitant to do this, but agreed at the urging of her friends.)

As a friend and one who loves this family, being able to take off some of the financial stress Marissa is facing would allow her to focus more fully on supporting her daughter as she fights and recovers from this awful virus.
