Support for Jodie & Montana with her Brain Surgery

MONTANA'S STORY:
Montana or Tana as she is better known as, is 15 years old and has suffered bad headaches for about 6 months and as any parent and Dr would assume that it is just hormonal and apart of being a teenager.
Last Monday the 2nd of March Jodie took Montana to the GP for a routine Dr appointment.
During the DR appointment Jodie mentioned about Montana's headaches and her being confused at times and the gp decided that a routine blood test and a MRI would be a good idea.
Wednesday the 4th of March in the afternoon Montana went for her MRI and blood tests.
Jodie had a phone call from the Gp office not long after the tests were done asking her to come back to the Gp's on Thursday morning to discuss the results.
Thursday morning Jodie and Montana went to the Gp thinking the results were quick to come back but didnt think much of it.
The Dr called Montana and Jodie in and they were informed that Montana has a Brain Tumor and is required to go straight up to Rockhampton Hospital as they are expecting her.
At the hospital they were met with the director of Pediatrics and the director of Emergency where Montana was admitted into hospital and told that she will be flying to Brisbane Children's Hospital the following morning.
Since Friday arriving in Brisbane Montana has been seen by a Neurologist and his Team, Oncologist and his team and countless other nurses, ward Dr's ect but is in good spirits.

This morning Monday the 9th of march the Team of Dr's meet this morning to discuss Montana's case.
The Nuro Surgeon has been in to see Montana and Jodie to get paper work signed, he also explained the surgery, answered questions and has scheduled Montana's Surgery for this Wednesday the 11th of March.

The Tumor:
The Tumor is aporx  5.5cm long  inside a cyst in the Parietal Lobe portion of the Brain which is why she was getting headaches.
While she has been in Brisbane they have been giving her steroids to help reduce the swelling before surgery on Wednesday.
The prognosis for Montana is good at this stage, as the Tumor isn't very deep inside the Brain and when it is removed they will Biopsy it to see if it is benign or not and that will determine what happens going forward.

The surgeon has said that she will need to remain off school  until after the school holidays which she wasn't to fussed about but she loves to play hockey and wanted to know when she could go back and play, the surgeon said in about 6 weeks she can go and do some training and take it from there.

Jodie:
Jodie is a single mum and this has obviously shocked her she did not expect this to happen and it has obviously turned her life upside down having to leave Rockhampton for Brisbane at such short notice.
Jodie has had to leave her 6 month old Baby Cruz who was still being breast fed and her 2 daughters, Charlie 12 & Tori-Lee 17 at home with family.
Jodie was also due to start a new Job on Friday as well but that is all up in the air now.
Jodie reluctantly said yes to me starting this Go Fund Me for her, Montana the girls and Cruz but being a single mum supporting Montana here and the her other children in Rocky the bills still come in, rent still needs to be paid and living away from home in the Ronald McDonald house having to buy food ect is becoming financially a strain and is only going to get harder the longer they are away from home.

With Jodie's blessing I will update everyone on how things are going with Montana  and her journey that's ahead of her.
