Support for Jazmir Bešlija's family

Assalamualaikum to all.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that our wonderful Jazmir Bešlija has passed away and gone back to his Creator on January 31st, 2023.
Inna illallah inna ilayhi raji'un (To Allah we belong and to Him is our return)

May Allah accept all of his efforts and reward him for the sacrifices he made consistently throughout his life, ameen. His resilience and determination to live were a source of admiration for all those who knew him, and even those who did not know him but heard his story.

Jazmir Bešlija came to America in 1994 as a medical refugee from Bosnia. During the Bosnian War, he was shot in front of a džámija (masjid) while trying to defend Bosniaks from the attacking Serbs in 1992. While receiving hospital treatment for his gunshot wound, he was then directly hit by shrapnel from an explosive projectile that was fired at the hospital, losing half of his organs as a result of the injury. After surviving that, he then developed an infection in his right leg and, after over 30 surgeries and years of pain, had to get it amputated. Nevertheless, Jazmir still managed to live, having 5 children with his wife and being the sole provider for his family. In 2020, he was diagnosed with cancer, which progressively spread throughout the same parts of his body that were injured during the war. He fought this illness, constantly adapting to every new limitation he faced with the same determination he always had, right until the very end. He was a survivor multiple times over, in just one lifetime.

Now, Jazmir is survived by his 5 young children; Aiša, Isa, Nuh, Musa, and Muhammed and his wife, Belma. More than anything, Jazmir cared about his family, everything he ever did was for them.
I ask everyone to please donate whatever they can to help his family get through this difficult transitional period in their lives. Any help will certainly be appreciated.

May Allah reward all of you for your efforts and charity, ameen.
