Support for Jaynee and family - Breast Cancer

This year I’ve had many challenges as to battling Covid which I can say I finally beat after 3 months then to having diverticulitis and having to be in the hospital for 6 days with intensive antibiotics around the clock and continued antibiotics for 10 days at home. Shortly after, when I felt like myself again, my sister had asked if I had gone for a mammogram but with all that has happened, my mind was pre-occupied from fighting covid and recovering from diverticulitis. I then did a self exam and from that point on was the start of my journey with breast cancer. On August 24, 2021 I received the most devastating news of my life. I was told that my biopsy results came back and I was diagnosed with grade 2 Invasive ductal carcinoma which is form of breast cancer which started in the milk ducts. It was even more devastating to tell my loving husband and my 3 beautiful children. After losing my mom to metastatic breast cancer just 2 years ago who lived with us, it was very hard for myself and the kids. So after receiving the news and trying to tell my kids who have seen what cancer can do and the side effects of treatments was literally the most difficult discussion I had to have. But I’m the luckiest wife as my husband was there to continue the conversation and answer questions that the kids had. He has been so supportive since day 1 and this is the reason why I wanted to create this, is to help him, help us and our family.. I have my double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery scheduled on friday, Oct.8th and will be be off work from 6months to a year as I recover and depending if I need treatment or not this will present many financial hardships to our family as we have our mortgage and bills to pay and mouths to feed and in addition to costs associated with treatment if needed like drugs that aren’t covered etc. It is extremely difficult to make ends meet with only short term disability payments (70% of my wage) it’s just not enough. So I am asking for donations to help offset these costs and so I can help my husband in anyway that I can while I can’t work and hopefully don’t have to worry too much about money and can concentrate on healing and getting better for myself and for my family.

To those of you who don’t know me, I’m a wife and mother to 3 amazing kids.. I’m a baker who loves to make cakes and cupcakes and I enjoy playing volleyball and going biking with friends. I cherish all my friendships and will always have their back. Everyone knows our house is always open especially those in need and I simply love my friends like family. I have the most amazing co-workers who I can also call my family and who have always been supportive of me.. I honestly can say I have the best support group surrounding me which makes this breast cancer journey of mine less painful. I would like to thank each and everyone who have been supportive of me, to those of you who donated for me in behalf of the CIBC run for the cure, to those who have reached out and gave me encouraging words, advices and for those who have prayed and are continuing to pray for me.
