<div>My 6-year-old nephew, Jaxon, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Thursday, December 11th, after weeks of illness, extreme pain, and countless trips to urgent care and the emergency room. Initially, doctors believed he was battling anemia, then pneumonia, all while Jaxon endured severe back, chest, and leg pain so intense that walking became unbearable. What began as confusion and concern quickly turned into a diagnosis that has changed everything.

<div>Jaxon’s mom, Natalie—my older sister and best friend—is a devoted single mother doing an incredible job raising Jaxon and his 3-year-old sister, Madison. Madison is pure joy and keeps everyone smiling, even during the hardest days. This diagnosis has completely upended their lives and brought challenges none of us could have prepared for.

<div>Jaxon is a light in every life he touches. He is smart, funny, kind, and endlessly loving, and we are beyond grateful to have him in our family. He is already showing incredible strength and bravery, and he will fight this with everything he has, surrounded by an overwhelming amount of love and support from friends and family.

<div>The financial burden of this diagnosis is immense—unknown medical bills, travel costs for hospital treatments, and necessary changes at home to support Jaxon’s care. Natalie has had to miss work to remain by Jaxon’s side, as she will continue to have to do, which only adds to the strain. The unexpected expenses seem endless, and it’s difficult to know where to turn. Our hope is to ease some of this burden so Natalie can focus on what matters most: being there for her children.
