Support for Jaxon Hickey

Hi Everyone, as some of you may already know our little legend Jaxon was admitted to the Royal Hobart Hospital 2 weeks ago and diagnosed with a very rare bacterial septicaemia. Through X ray and a PET scan last week a secondary infection has shown up in his lungs. To add to the complication of this already rare case, Jaxon was born with a heart condition that required him to have surgery soon after birth and an artificial heart valve was implanted. Unfortunately, the PET scan has also revealed the infection has attached to the artificial piece and there is a 90% chance that once the infection has cleared he will require heart surgery in Melbourne to replace the valve.

For the last 2 weeks Jaxon’s amazing mum Jess has stayed by his side and slept at the hospital every night. His equally amazing father Johnny has taken the reins at home caring for their 3 other children. This has left them both unable to work at this time. With Jaxon’s treatment plan 6 weeks of intravenous antibiotics as an inpatient and then a possible heart operation the time off work could be extensive.

I know all of their friends and loved ones have reached out to help but sometimes its hard to know how. So the purpose of this page is to raise a little money to help take some of the financial burden away so Jess and Johnny can focus fully on Jaxon’s recovery and know some of the bills are being covered.
