It is with great sadness that we share of the recent passing of Lilian Hernandez who served as the registrar at MacArthur for 17 years until 2016. Lilian was incredibly kind, helpful, and had a special way of making all who came to the MacArthur office feel welcome. She will be dearly missed by our community.
Lilian passed away on Saturday, August 5th due to complications related to Lupus. We hope that through this page we can offer our support to Lilian's husband and two young daughters (7 & 11) in this difficult time. The money will go towards the girls' educational future and left over medical costs.
Services for Lilian will be held in Jacksonville, FL on Tuesday, August 14th.
A recent post of Lilian's included this encouraging message to us all:
"One day at a time, when we are having a very stressful day(s),or things just don't seem right or we are just sad or not happy with our life remember that at some point we need balance and focus on the Good things we do have and put positive energy on what we do have instead of what is not there, we will find the joy in the smallest things! Not to mention just waking up to a new start each day."
To know Lilian was to love her. She lived her life in a beautiful way and touched the lives of so many children and families. Thank you to this community in coming together to support her family.
