Hector Alejo suffers from a less common form of degenerative disc disease since a very young age. This causes the discs in his spine to move from the base of the vertebrae which results in extreme pain. Having had this since his early 20’s, Hector Alejo has had multiple spine surgeries to straighten the vertebrae and keep the discs in place. Unfortunately, as he gets older, the disease only gets worse, and today he has only 6 natural discs left, all others having been replaced or fixed in one way or the other. Through the years he has had 11 surgeries, the last three in the past 14 months, and another one scheduled for April 2nd. He needs ongoing therapy to keep his movement.

Hector Alejo has continued to work, not letting his disease get in the way, but as you can imagine, this takes a very heavy toll on him in all ways. Since insurance does not pay everything, he has a huge bill in deductibles and co-pays, and he has run out of financial resources to pay for these.

While there is not much we can do to help him with the disease, we can help him by donating to help him cover the expenses he has to cover for the last surgery and the upcoming one in 2 weeks.

Alejo ha sufrido de una forma menos común del Síndrome Degenerativo de los discos desde muy joven. Esto causa que los discos en su columna se salen solos de la base de la vertebra, lo que resulta en mucho dolor. Desde que padece de esta enfermedad, Alejo ha tenido múltiples cirugías para enderezar la vertebra y mantener los discos en su lugar. Desafortunadamente a medida que pasan los años, la enfermedad se pone mas grave y hoy solo le quedan 6 discos naturales, todos los demás reemplazados o fijados de alguna manera. A través de los años ha tenido ya 11 cirugías, los últimos 3 en los últimos 14 meses, con otro ya programada para el 2 de abril. Necesita de terapia continua para mantener su movimiento.

A través de todo esto, Alejo siempre ha continuado trabajando, y la enfermedad no le ha hecho parar. Pero como se imaginan, esto toma muchísimo esfuerzo de todo tipo. Como el seguro de el no paga para todo, él tiene unas deudas muy grandes en deducibles y copagos y esta a un punto que ya no tiene mas recursos financieros para pagarlas.

A pesar de que no podemos hacer mucho para ayudarle con esta enfermedad, si podemos ayudarlo en pagar sus deudas medicas de la última cirugía, y la que tiene en 2 semanas.

Son tiempos difíciles para todos, pero se agradece mucho si pueden ayudar con algo. Sé que Alejo lo apreciará muchísimo.
