update: thank you so much for all your help in raising the funds to help take care of my mom's final expenses. it's been really rough emotionally and otherwise, and this has helped relieve the burden immensely. the goal has been reached, and I literally cannot thank you all enough.

hello, my name is Ashley. I wanted to edit this blurb (7-14-25, around the 5 month anniversary and the day before my 33rd birthday) in order to update the situation. I started this fundraiser to help raise money to fund the cremation costs and other related expenses left behind by the passing of my mom. She left us on February 10th, 2025, and having to deal with all of the legal and financial stuff (that I'm still dealing with) has made it difficult for me to process my grief. I am doing my best, though, and I wanted to update this and tell you all that while I am still trying to raise money to cover other expenses my mom left behind, we've managed to pay off the cremation. One less thing to worry about, and I legitimately could not have done it without all of your help. I cried when I got the paid in full receipt in the mail and I can't thank you enough; your contributions to this campaign have made and continue to make this whole thing easier and allow me to process my grief and feel my feelings without having to worry so much about the financial stuff. I'm also so grateful to the funeral home for working with me and allowing me to pay in bits and pieces over time.

I am still trying to raise money to cover costs and thus will keep sharing this.

original text — I started this fundraiser shortly after the unexpected passing of my mom, Gretchen, trying to raise funds to cover her death expenses and other related costs. she passed on the morning of Monday, February 10th, and my heart is broken. i still feel the urge to call her while i eat my breakfast and talk to her about MrBallen and random sales that are happening, as well as any time I'm going through a rough patch — which is a lot, lately. I miss her so much already and am going to miss her forever. she was a huge part of my life. she didn't have life insurance or a savings, she was disabled and on a fixed income, as well as other assistance programs. I'm also disabled and am unable to afford cremation and other associated costs. anything leftover will be put toward miscellaneous expenses related to her passing. I genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, appreciate all of the donations I've received thus far. thank you so much for any and all support going forward as well, as I still need help. it is greatly appreciated in this extremely difficult time.
