Support for Gregory Howze and the Howze family

My name is Tracy. My Sister-Friends, Theresa, Dionne and I are fundraising for our Sister, Brenda Howze and her Husband, Gregory. Our Sister-Friend group, known as the True Blue Crew (#TBC) are asking for prayers and financial support for the Howze family. Their story will touch your hearts.

When one family member falls extremely ill, the entire family feels it. Gregory and Brenda Howze have been down a long grueling road for well over a year discussing with doctors in multiple cities, and states regarding Gregory's worsening heart condition. By the grace of God on October 8, 2021 Gregory received the heart transplant he needed after almost a month stay in the ICU at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

Since receiving the gift of a new heart Gregory has faced many, many challenges. These challenges have led to multiple surgeries delaying his recovery. Recently, doctors discovered Gregory had internal bleeding which prohibited his body from healing from the inside. Another emergency surgery included opening his chest cavity to find the source of bleeding, and leave his chest cavity open for several weeks to ensure the bleeding had stopped and internal healing had begun. He is currently on ventilation to support his breathing but by the mercies of God this humble servant is still fighting every day.

Gregory is a Trooper in every sense of the word. He is a retired New York State Police Officer who served with great pride for 27 years. He is a faithful and dedicated member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Buffalo. His road to recovery will be long and extensive requiring intense physical, occupational, as well as speech therapy. We trust and believe that God truly has a divine purpose and plan for this humble man of God.

Brenda, Gregory's wife of 38 years remains faithfully at his bedside, as the scripture states; "He who findeth a wife finds a good thing and shall obtain favor with the lord..." (Proverbs 18:22), and in this Brenda has shown herself to be just that. An exemplary source of strength for him when faced with extraordinary circumstances. Brenda has been staying at a hotel near the Cleveland Clinic for more than two months where she has no comforts of her own. She is desperately advocating for her husband daily while being separated from the rest of her family. Gregory and Brenda's sons; Gregory Jr, James, & Ryan and their grandchildren; Angel, Isaiah, Thalia, Grayson, & Natalie, as well as their other family, friends and community of support are all four hours away.

While Brenda is advocating and staying vigil at her husband's bedside, the financial burden of rising hospital and hotel costs weigh heavily on her mind. We are asking on behalf of the Howze family for your prayers and any financial assistance you are able to contribute. Please do what you can to ease the worries of this loving family. Any financial contribution is greatly appreciated and would go toward medical bills, deductibles, uncovered medical expenses, as well as expenses associated with follow-up treatment since all of Gregory's treatment will be completed at the Cleveland Clinic. Your financial assistance will also support Brenda with her expenses while in Cleveland. If you are unable to donate, please continue to keep the Howze family in your prayers. We trust God and know the strength and power of prayer. We also know that God is a healer and a miracle worker. He is providing a great testimony for Gregory and Brenda because in the end He will get all the honor and glory!
