***A message from the fundraiser organizer - For those that know me, you know that I value family, friendships, and connections with others. The people displayed here I consider to be my family. They are all hard working individuals. They have dreams and goals outside of working for Friends and Lovers. They have families and loved ones that rely on them. With the current situation, it has not only impacted their finances, but also their dreams, goals, families, and so much more. I ask from the bottom of my heart, please read the message below and donate what you can. $1, $5, $10 or higher is more than enough to help these wonderful people get through this extremely difficult time. In this time of great need, I believe we can all search within ourselves to help in any way possible. If you can't donate, I totally understand. If you're willing to share this to those that possibly can, that would be greatly appreciated.***

With the Coronavirus pandemic, nightlife in NYC has come to an immediate halt. This has caused a major disruption in everyone's lives - especially in the hospitality industry. Those that depend on nightlife to make a living will struggle to pay their bills, feed themselves and their families, and pay rent. While there is support for small businesses and employees, the time it may take to roll out this support is a bit unclear, and the amount being offered is unknown.   

For over six years, Friends and Lovers has been one of Brooklyn's favorite venues, and our staff has dedicated so much of their time and energy into creating a warm and welcoming environment for people from all different walks of life. They are some of the most loving, inspirational, and admirable individuals you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. Due to this unfortunate situation, the entire team is without income and could be for quite some time. This is where you can help.

We know times are hard and money is tight everywhere, but we are reaching out to friends, family, patrons, and yes...total strangers to help us in this time of need. All donations will be split among staff to help pay for rent, bills, and food while we wait for this shutdown and pandemic to end. Funds will be pulled from GoFundMe into a personal checking account that is linked directly to Venmo. From there, Venmo payments will be sent directly to staff for immediate use towards their living expenses.
