Support Fred and His Family

Over the past few months, Fred's father has become increasingly and gravely ill.  After many examinations in Kigali, he was diagnosed with throat cancer and recommended to travel outside of the country for treatment.  Despite the huge costs and the many unknowns, with the situation becoming more dire, his family made the difficult and urgent decision a few weeks ago to seek treatment in Salt Lake City, where one of Fred's brothers lives.  

Fred's father was able to get a last minute visa, is now undergoing intensive treatment, and expected to be in the hospital for another few weeks.  In that time, it has become apparent that Fred's father needs additional support in the hospital, so Fred is leaving Rwanda this week to join him.

We love and appreciate Fred and his family deeply and want to support them however we can.  With flights and medical payments, it's an extremely daunting cost to the family- they have a temporary insurance plan that covers up to $50,000, but currently the estimated costs are around $85,000, and rising.  We would like to help however much we can to ensure his dad gets the best care possible and the family is supported through the whole process.  

The amount is overwhelming for everyone, but right now the most important thing is for Fred's dad to get the care he needs and to be on the best road to recovery possible.  Due to the urgent nature of the situation time is of the essence.  Thank you so much for joining us to stand with our friend Fred and his family.
