Our Friend and Inspiration

Razz devoted his life to the service of others and to the greater good. He was a man of remarkable skill and passion. Many of us remember his lifelong commitment to overcoming barriers and his devotion to exploring the boundaries of the possible. Razz focused on making a difference. He consistently shared his discoveries about this wide world with others. His was a way that transformed even physical limitations into gifts and opportunities. In fact, he showed us and many of you who benefitted from his work how to turn the impossible into the possible.

Amazing energy, an open heart and an inspiring smile; these are qualities he embodied. He could smell a rare adventure long before most of us had a clue it was out there. He embraced Life and spent much of his time here refining the art of living in the present. In short, Razz had a way of embodying the spirit of Helen Keller's words, “Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure."

Our Opportunity to Give Back

What very few people knew much about is this: a few years ago, a car accident left him with only partial use of his remaining arm and in considerable pain a lot of the time. As a result his life changed dramatically. He had to pull back from doing a number of things he loved to do. He and Mandy both struggled to rebound from significant trauma and the weight of medical bills from the accident. And now, of
course, with his recent and unexpected passing at a still relatively young and vital age, Mandy and his children are in shock; reeling, and under significant financial strain. Taken together, these things make the whole situation hard to face for those who have lost the most.

We who knew, loved, and worked with Razz, now want to acknowledge his presence in our lives, the gifts he shared with us, and the fact that he not only talked about paying-it-forward a lot but, in fact, lived paying-it-forward.
In that same spirit, we want to show up too. So, we’ve established a fund intended to surround his family with love at a time they really need support — emotional, spiritual, practical, and financial support — to help them get on their feet and make it through these hardest of days.

We’re inviting you to join us too. All of the money raised will go directly to Razz’s family. So if you’ve been touched by Razz’s gifts, his courage and wisdom, his gracious heart, his love of life and adventure, please share whatever you are able to share with Mandy and his children and in this way, celebrate the life of a wonderful soul who followed Rumi's advice, "Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do."
