Look for the helpers. I need some helpers. On July 5, my mom went into the hospital, was released on July 8, and was readmitted on July 10. She never went home and passed on September 13. I flew back and forth from Missouri to California each week and worked nights on the weekends until the final weeks when she was placed in hospice. After she passed, I returned to work, and though my supervisors were very sympathetic throughout, took me off the schedule, and offered their help, their boss was not, and ultimately I was let go the night I returned to work after mom’s passing. I have been looking for a job for a month.
Recently, both of my children have had some hefty medical bills. Elise has been diagnosed with Status Migraine; the diagnostic blood panel and testing cost over $1000 after insurance. We are thankful it is nothing more serious. Corey has Treatment Resistant Depression; he tried a new therapy for relief that was not covered by insurance, to the tune of $4000.
The coup de grâce, on Monday I received notice that car insurance will be going up to $4400/six months with the kid added.
I am usually the one who gives the shirt off my back, works in the community, and tries to make it better for everyone. Now I’m the one who needs some help. I’m terrified of losing my house. I just need to make sure the mortgage is covered while I’m looking for a job. If you can help, although slightly uncomfortable with asking, the kids and I appreciate it.
Proverbs 11:25. Generosity will be rewarded: Give a cup of water, and you will receive a cup of water in return.
Thank you!
