<div>My name is Sydney Tapper and I have started this GoFundMe to benefit my niece Evalyn Tomlinson and her parents, Jason and Heather Tomlinson, while they are off work and keeping their attention on her progress and health. This campaign is to raise funds for travel, bills and other expenses. They also have two other children at home and traveling back and forth between Lincoln and Peoria daily and sometimes more than once. They have a 4 month old son who is also fighting Influenza A and 13yr old son.

<div>Evalyn is the sweetest, most caring and pure hearted kid! Most recently she tested positive for Influenza A and like most parents, they were advised to give over the counter medications for comfort and to push fluids.

<div>Unfortunately, Evalyn’s body struggled to fight the infection.
</div>

<div>Fast forward 7 days—around 12am, my sister Heather and brother in law Jason, awoke to her coughing and noted she was significantly worse. At the same time they were preparing to take their 4 month old in for evaluation. So they rushed both kids to the local Emergency Department in Lincoln, IL where they began oxygen therapy on Evalyn and her oxygen saturation was 85% and dipped to the 70s. It was determined that Evalyn had progressed to pneumonia.

<div>The doctors at Lincoln Memorial Hospital made a call to consult with Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria and it was determined that Evalyn needed to be stabilized and transported for further care that Lincoln could not handle. As they were preparing to transport Evalyn via ambulance, her oxygen levels were low and they could not stabilize her airway and oxygen for an ambulance ride and Children’s in Peoria made the decision that she needed to be intubated and life-flighted.

<div>While being intubated, the provider misplaced the tube and it deviated to one lung and in the process collapsed the other lung. On arrival to Children’s in Peoria, they worked meticulously to re-inflate the lung and successfully did so! She has been sedated and so far doing wonderful! They have full faith that recovery is near but a long road.

<div>This campaign can make a huge and positive impact on their family as they are one income, and Jason is off work to focus on Evalyn.
