Diane Long and her husband Tommy spent 56 years together, building a life centered around their love for horses and each other. As horse trainers and drivers, they traveled between Florida and the north, always working as a team. Their miniature trick horse, Sunny, was a beloved companion for 28 years, joining them in community shows, nursing homes, and local celebrations. Diane and Tommy were known for their willingness to help others, always ready to lend a hand or bring a smile to someone’s face with a story or a performance.
In January 2024, Tommy was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Despite their determination and the support they gave each other, Tommy passed away in June, with Diane by his side. The loss has left Diane devastated and facing an uncertain future. With no children and only a small monthly income from social security, Diane is now staying with her sister while she tries to find a permanent place to live. She is also managing her own health issues, making this transition even more difficult.
This fundraiser is to help Diane cover medical bills, funeral costs, and basic living expenses as she navigates this challenging time. Any support will go directly toward helping her find stability and begin to rebuild. Diane has always given to her community in her own way, and now she needs a little help in return. Your kindness and generosity will mean the world to her as she faces the days ahead.
A celebration of life to honor Tommy will be held on June 25, 2025, at 64 Willimantic Drive, Marstons Mills, MA 02648, from 5 pm to 7 pm. For all who come, please share a favorite joke or story about your time with Tommy.
