Support for Deputy Sheriff Dimmick and Family

Personal message and request from the Sheriff of Monroe County to our Community:

Our brother in blue is fighting for his life. We are asking Monroe County and surrounding communities to help raise funds for medical and travel expenses for Monroe County Deputy Sheriff Steven Dimmick and his family during his long journey to recovery. Any donation, large or small, is incredibly appreciated and will impact the Dimmick family tremendously. Even if you are unable to give, please share his story and lift them up in prayer.

Deputy Steven Dimmick is an 8 year veteran of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. He contracted Covid-19 while in the line of duty. He has been hospitalized since November 26, 2021. On December 8, 2021, due to Covid-19 complications, Deputy Dimmick was placed in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator. After the ventilator, more complications arose and he was put on an advanced life support machine. He has been transferred to one of the best hospitals in the Country, University of Penn Medicine. He was to be airlifted Saturday the 11th but due to high winds the flight was cancelled, so our deputies escorted the ambulance to UPenn to get him there as quickly as possible. He is fighting for his life. All funds raised will go towards his medical expenses as well as travel and accommodations for his family to go to and from Philadelphia during his long road to recovery.

Deputy Dimmick is and has always been willing to help his community. In addition to his duties as a Deputy Sheriff he has helped with numerous community projects including the Olsen Family Wish, Blue Line Toy Drive, Meals on Wheels, and Memorial motorcycle rides for various charities. Deputy Dimmick is a son, brother, long term boyfriend, nephew, amazing friend and loves animals. He always has a smile and is the first to offer a hand to anyone in need. He has always put everyone ahead of himself and now he needs our help.
