On the evening of Thursday August 23, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, my sister Crystal Miranda and my 14yr old niece Arianna were involved in a serious car accident. They were rear ended by an SUV at full speed and the impact slammed Crystal’s car into the back of a city bus. Both Crystal and Arianna were inflicted with multiple injuries, Crystal’s being the most serious. The impact caused Crystal’s face to hit the windshield & she sustained multiple lacerations to her face. She also suffered a very serious cervical spine injury. Her C1 vertebra is fractured with torn ligaments. Crystal will remain in a neck brace for weeks. Complications with injury may require surgery on her spine, but we are hopeful that her body will heal on its own with time and therapy. Arianna also has a laceration on her face and scrapes & bruises. She also suffered a concussion & severe whiplash from the accident. They are both very traumatized from this experience and have a long road of recovery ahead of them. Crystal was relocating to Colorado Springs just this past April for a new beginning after accepting a job as a Surgical Technologist. Now Crystal will be out of work for a couple of months at the least & she will not be able to drive anytime soon. We are unsure of the long term effects this injury may have for Crystal & her career in healthcare. We are asking for help financially for their future as they recover. We ask for continuous prayers for a full recovery for both Crystal & Arianna and any donation is appreciated.❤️
