Support for Cory Jr.'s Eye Surgery

My dear nephew, Cory Jr. Sobrio, has suffered from major vision impairment and is faced with the potential for total blindness in both eyes. Through the years his eyesight has aggressively gotten worse and he requires another surgery to help save what is left of his vision. The surgery will be a Retina reattachment  with a vitrectomy and insertion of a nitrogen bubble.

Cory will be forced to lay in a face-down position for a month and will be out of work for almost 2 months.

This will be Cory's 4th major surgery on his eyes in hopes to lower the risk of blindness. Over the past 5 years he's had Cataract Surgery, a Retinal Tear surgery, and countless procedures including over 20 injections directly into the eyes, all with the hope to save his eyesight - without this surgery he will be at higher risk to losing his vision.

As a middle school teacher in the Boston area, this leaves him with only a few weeks of work left before summer vacation. We are hoping to raise money to help with the cost of the surgery, medication co-pays, new prescription glasses, and lastly help cover subsequent expenses as his short-term disability for the next 2 months will be half of his normal take-home pay. Cory, thankfully, does have health insurance but there is a hefty co-pay and on a teacher's salary.

The possibility of losing one's vision is gut wrenching. We ask for your prayers and support as Cory prepares to undergo this major surgery and for prayers and strength during his recovery.
