It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chris Morton. He passed away after an unexpected illness on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He was 54. He is survived by his wife, Kim, of 33 years, and two daughters, Abby and Mackenzie. He was a 1990 graduate of Rochester High School in Rochester, Indiana, and a 1994 graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a man that wore many hats among his family as well as his work family. He was an older brother, nephew, son-in-law, father-in-law, uncle, cousin, mentor, and friend to countless people. Quick with a joke and generous with a laugh.
Chris joined Press Ganey in October 2001. He devoted the past 24 years to Press Ganey and the EDI team that he cared so much about. He was one of the most knowledgeable and hard-working people to ever grace the halls of PG. If you were truly interested in learning, he was passionate about teaching you.
Chris had an unwavering commitment to excellence, not only for himself but everyone he worked with. It was this tenacity that made him the ideal person to run QA for so many of our data ingress processes. He could spot even the smallest of errors in a sea of text and a mountain of work and wasn’t afraid to call it out. It didn’t matter who you were, an error was an error. He was always willing to take the time to explain what the error was, why it wasn’t right, and how you could get it right next time. He made us all better at what we do, every day. The breadth and depth of his knowledge of PG systems and processes were unparalleled.
There will never be another like him. His family has strength among them, but life without him will be so different and difficult.
These funds will be used for funeral costs and other miscellaneous expenses. Help us reach our goal! Every donation counts!
