Support for Chantal Menard

At the beginning of February, Chantal received some unexpected news when she was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer. She is still undergoing more tests, such as PET scans, MRI's and ultrasounds, but it appears that the cancer has spread to her pelvic lymph nodes as well as the lymph nodes in her neck. Seeing as the tumor on the cervix is already too large to surgically be removed, Chantal's treatment will consist of combined external radiation and chemotherapy for 5 consecutive weeks, 5 days per week.  After finishing those first 5 weeks, she will then go through an internal implant radiation therapy session where she will be on strict bed rest.  Once these sessions are complete, more tests will be done to determine if more treatment is required and she will be closely monitored for the next few months.  Her oncologists are very hopeful and optimistic, however, they've told her to not expect to be fully back on her feet and able to work until at least July.  She has already been off of work for the passed 3 weeks as she is unable to work due to the fact that she is in a lot of physical pain because of the size of the tumor and because at this point, she is very fatigued and weak.  On top of all the costs associated with treatment, (travel, lodging, food, medications), Chantal is an independent home owner.  Her mortgage and bill payments consume nearly all of her income, even after minimizing her expenditures.  

We have come up with a rough estimate of what the cost of hotels, meals, parking, medications, as well as her personal expenses would add to for the course of 5 weeks.  Her road to recovery will be a long and difficult one.  We, as her family, have stepped in and created this campaign to help bring Chantal some relief from the financial pressures she is facing with having to go through treatment and being unable to work.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated.  Please help us fight for this beautiful woman who is our daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each and every one of you in advance for all your love, support, and prayers.
