Those who know my mom, Carolyn Hernandez, knows that she is one of the strongest women I know. However, this past year has really been the hardest and has been a true testament of her strength. For more than a year she has supported and taken care of the man whom I call dad. A man that stepped up and was a dad to me when he didn't have to be. You see more than a year ago, my "other" dad was diagnosed with esophageal and liver cancer. My mom, Carolyn has gone through the whole treatment process with him; Chemo, Radiation, dehydration, physical therapy, home health, low platelets, IV drips, remembering all his countless medications, and finger sticks to keep his diabetes in check. Just last week, he returned to the hospital where he fell. The MRI to his head showed two mass. Yep, the cancer has spread again. Through it all, she has been by his side. Having the only income, she hasn't been able to work as much due to the many trips to the hospital. He wants her by his side and well she doesn't want to be anywhere else. So thankful Chick fil a has been very supportive and allowing her this time to be with him.
When she isn't at Baptist Hospital with Donnie; she is taking take care of her mother in law (who lives with her) as well as her dad, (my grandfather, Ray Ainsworth) who also got diagnosed with cancer this year.
Numerous times a day, I am asked, "how are your dad and papaw doing?" and so many times, I answer, "please continue to pray for my dad, my grandfather, as well as my mom!"
However now, I'm asking for financial support for my mom as well as prayers. My mom has a huge burden on her shoulders, emotionally and financially since the bills keep adding up. I know with the love and support of our friends and family we can reach this goal. Let's raise money for Carolyn and show her that she isn't in this alone!! I put a goal of $2000.00 but let's surpass this number in record time! If you aren't able to give now, please continue to pray for my family! Thank you all!
