Most of you know Cara either from Salon Couture, as The Nail Picasso, supporting go-go bands and other businesses and individuals over the many years in the DMV area.
On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, Cara suffered a major stroke while at home. She’s been in ICU since, so that they can monitor her closely. There have been several negative side affects from the stroke to include swelling of the brain, impaired speech and short term memory loss.
This will require Cara to attend physical, occupational, and rigorous speech therapy. As you may know in her line of business, you don’t work, you don’t get paid. Although expected to make a full recovery, the doctors are estimating a 6 month recovery period.
While the family appreciates your well wishes and concern, privacy is in her and their best interest. Visits are not possible at this time and the hospital is unable to provide information on her status if you call. It’s asked that you respect the wishes of the family. The family will continue to provide updates in regards to her recovery.
This GoFundMe page has been set up by the family to help assist with her financial/medical needs while going through this process, until she’s able to return to work.
