Caitlin was a bright light in our lives—a 23-year-old kindergarten teacher whose warmth, kindness, and laughter touched everyone she met. Last night, that light was taken from us far too soon by a drunk driver. Caitlin was a devoted wife, just five days away from celebrating her eight-month wedding anniversary, and a loving mother to her 13-month-old son. She poured her heart into her family and her students, always putting others before herself. 
 
 
 This holiday season held a special place in Caitlin’s heart. She was filled with joy and anticipation to experience her son’s first real Christmas—imagining his wonder at the twinkling lights, the excitement of unwrapping presents, and the laughter they would share as a family. Caitlin dreamed of starting new traditions and making memories that her little boy would cherish for years to come. Her love for her family shone brightest during these moments, and she couldn’t wait to see the magic of the season through her son’s eyes. Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, and her family is struggling to imagine life without her gentle presence. 
 
 
 We are reaching out in this time of heartbreak to ask for help. The funds raised will go toward Caitlin’s funeral costs, as well as medical bills for her mother and grandmother-in-law, who were also injured in the accident. Most importantly, we hope to provide some support for Caitlin’s little boy as he faces a future without his mother’s love and guidance. 
 
 
 There’s no reason to ever get behind the wheel impaired in this day and age. Please, hold your loved ones close and tell them how much they mean to you, because you never know when they may be gone.
