Bringing Grayson Home

Donation protected
My closest friend has been enjoying the journey to grand-motherhood for the last 5 months. It has been so heartwarming seeing the ultrasounds, gender reveal party pics and the sharing overall of this event. Her daughter, Brooke, and husband Blake, couldn't be more excited to have their first born child due early this summer.  Apparently, baby Grayson was excited as well!

Friday, March 16th, Brooke started having contractions.  Before everyone knew it Brooke was in the hospital with orders to stay until Grayson  was born. Grayson Lee Salisbury was born at 24.5 weeks-on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018, at 2:24 a.m. He came into the world via c-section and was 2.2 oz. He was immediately rushed to the NICU where he will remain for months as he gains weight and strength. He will also need the constant 24-hour supervision the NICU is able to provide.

Saturday, March 24th, 2018, was a bittersweet day for the family. Brooke was able to leave the hospital but without her son.  The next few months will be difficult for the family-we don't know what they will bring. We do know that there will be many unexpected events along the way as Grayson continue to fight.

The day after Brooke was released, Sunday, March 25th, the family received a call. Grayson has a brain bleed and devolped a heart murmur. This is heartbreaking to hear the journey has taken this route so soon but Grayson is a fighter! With all of his loved ones praying besides, we know that Grayson will be okay-and that someday soon he will be home with his parents.

During the next 3 months Brooke and Blake will need to be at the hospital with Grayson as he gets better. Some of these stays will come unexpectedly as things arise as well. No one can ever prepare for a birth like this (especially as Brooke's pregnancy was relatively smooth).
The financial burden during a time like this can be extremely stressful.

My goal is to raise enough funds to cover rent+utilities for Brooke and Blake for the next 3 months (April, May and June). By doing so, they will be able to spend quality time with Grayson during his recovery. He needs his parents there as much as he can during this time but that will mean many days of them not being able work to spend this time with him-they are both currently working full time jobs.

Having known Brooke since she was just a baby herself it is difficult to watch her and the family go through this unexpected event. As with any unexpected event the financial burden is extremely stressful and I want to come together to help Brooke and Blake. Whatever anyone is able to give is greatly appreciated! Let's bring baby Grayson home <3
