Support Aylin Gonzalez & her family

On July 17, 2017, Aylin gave birth to Valeria, 5 weeks early and while Valeria was critical in the NICU, Aylin became very ill shortly thereafter. Aylin developed heart failure, postpartum cardiomyopathy and was immediately rushed to the ICU where she remained critical for 6 days undergoing procedures. Oscar, her boyfriend spent his days and nights at their side between both the NICU and ICU worrying about his girlfriend and newborn baby girl. What was suppose to be a very happy moment in parenthood, turned out to be a horrible, scary nightmare. Aylin met Valeria 3 days later until she was conscious and strong enough to sit in a wheelchair to visit her baby in the NICU. She was finally discharged on July 25, visiting Valeria daily in between her cardiologist, heart failure clinic and primary doctor visits.

After several weeks and various tests/procedures and muscle biopsy, Valeria was diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy, shocking news to everyone. Neurologists assured her parents that babies born with this illness never survive the first month of life, much less out of the NICU. Valeria graduated the NICU and finally came home 72 days later.

Valeria also requires appointments like her Mom all of which has made it difficult for Oscar to make ends meet. Just as Mom and Dad were adjusting and enjoying life with their newborn, with nurses and therapists visiting Valeria at home 3 times a week, Valeria gets sick, with collapsed lungs and respiratory infection. She’s been in critical condition in the PICU since October 29th.

This fundraiser has been created to help Aylin and Oscar during their difficult, unforeseen situation and help pay for doctor’s co-pays, lost wages, medications and unexpected expenses. A cost that they couldn’t be prepared for.

We are asking for help. Prayers of course are very much needed and helping offset costs during this time of need for Aylin and her little family is greatly appreciated. Any help that you can give will help alleviate some financial stress while they pray for a miracle for their baby girl.

Thank you in advance and God bless you!
