Update : 10/21/17
It’s now been five weeks since my mom had surgery. We are home & she is starting her 4th week of chemo & radiation this week. We are so grateful for all the help & support people have given us these past weeks. We are now working to set up fundraisers for the coming months. She will not be returning to work until spring break at the latest. Even then funds will be needed to make ends meet, due to her teaching contract being prorated. We appreciate all continued financial and prayer support.
A few weeks ago my mom started having pain in her lower back and stomach that landed us in the walk in clinic once, and the ER twice due to her pain, which she described as bad back labor, and kidney stones. On Thursday September 7th one of her OB/GYN's found a mass during a pelvic exam. She then had an ultrasound, on Friday the 8th, which revealed a 16 x 9 cm mass. She was then scheduled to see her oncologist in Seattle, as this is a recurrence of cervical cancer which was removed last year. She was seen on Wednesday the 13th, and admit that day, surgery was preformed the next day. They went in, and decided that they could not safely remove the tumor at that time. It is very close to her bowels and bladder, and has a blood supply. The next step in her treatment will be six weeks of Radiation along with Chemotherapy. The hope is that the tumor will shrink and detach from her other organs, so that it can be safely removed. The current treatment plan will require her to be out of work till at least mid January. Because she is the sole provider for our family, we are in need of financial support. We appreciate all who have already stepped forward to help with practical things like meals and yard/house work. Your prayer support is also greatly needed. Please stand in agreement with us for a complete recover.
