Support for Aneta's Ankle Surgery

The Back Story
Our dear friend Aneta has recently suffered a terrible injury and we need your help.
As most of you already know, Aneta is currently in between work visas and therefore had to stop working in January, leaving her uninsured and without income. This means that Aneta is not covered under OHIP or any other medical insurance. During this small window of time, as luck would have it, she slipped on a patch of black ice that resulted in a complicated ankle break.
The injury led to countless doctors appointments, x-rays, prescriptions, ultrasounds and ultimately an extensive orthopedic surgery. The surgery is called an Open Reduction Internal Fixation, wherein six screws and a metal plate are inserted into the ankle. And this is not the end; she will need two more surgeries in the next year.
Undergoing medical treatment while uninsured in Canada is a terrifying and expensive experience. It costs $800 alone just to enter the emergency room in the hospital. This gives you an idea of what the total costs of her care have been so far, and all of these expenses will have to be paid out of pocket.
Her closest friends and family have been helping as much as possible, but the costs have outgrown our ability. The hospital bill will need to be paid soon and we are now are turning to you, her community, for help.
The Costs (it hasn’t been cheap)
-$800 emergency room visit
-$400 hospital appointments fee
-$4000- $5000 for the first surgery
-$40 X-Ray
-$300 ambulance
-$165 prescriptions
-$250 transportation to and from the hospital
-$1300 upcoming costs, including: follow up appointment fees for the hospital and the physician, prescriptions, an air cast, transportation to and from the hospital, physiotherapy.

Jak część z Was pewnie już wie, Aneta zmaga się od jakiegoś czasu z kanadyjskimi przepisami imigracyjnymi i czeka na kolejną wizę na pracę, przez co w styczniu musiała nagle przejść na bezpłatny urlop, w dodatku bez ubezpieczenia zdrowotnego. Pech chciał, że trakcie tego krótkiego czasu pomiędzy końcem obowiązywania jednej wizy a początkiem kolejnej, poślizgnęła się na oblodzonym chodniku, co poskutkowało skomplikowanym złamaniem nogi w kostce i zerwanymi więzadłami w stawie skokowym.
W wyniku wypadku Aneta musiała poddać się niezliczonym badaniom, prześwietleniom i testom, a na koniec poważnej operacji ortopedycznej, nazywanej otwartym nastawieniem ze stabilizacją wewnętrzną (ORIF). Polega to w dużym skrócie na wkręceniu w kości sześciu śrub i metalowej płytki. To jednak nie koniec, w ciągu kolejnego roku Aneta będzie musiała przejść jeszcze dwie kolejne operacje.
Korzystanie z opieki zdrowotnej w Kanadzie bez ważnego ubezpieczenia jest ogromnie kosztowne. Samo wejście na tamtejszy SOR kosztuje 800$. Możecie sobie wyobrazić całkowity koszt takiego leczenia, a to wszystko musi być pokrywane z własnej kieszeni.
Najbliżsi przyjaciele i rodzina pomagają jak tylko mogą, jednak te koszty przekroczyły już nasze możliwości. Rachunek ze szpitala trzeba będzie niedługo opłacić, dlatego zwracamy się do Was wszystkich z prośbą o pomoc.

400$ - badania w szpitalu
4000-5000$ - pierwsza operacja
40$ - prześwietlenie RTG
300$ - karetka
165$ - recepty
250$ - transport do i ze szpitala
1300$ - koszty przyszłe, takie jak: badania kontrolne, wizyty u fizjoterapeuty, recepty, stabilizator stawu skokowego, dojazdy na badania, rehabilitacja
