Support for Amber Hall & Family

Donation protected
Amber Hall unexpectedly lost her sweet husband Darren Hall of 15 and half years on Sunday October 29th 2017. They have 3 beautiful children, Madison 13, Marli 11, and Lucas 8. With the financial burden a loss of a loved one brings, we would like to come together to support Amber through this difficult time. Amber we love you and we are here for you and your family. Any amount you are able to spare would be greatly appreciated. Funds will be directly given to the family to go towards funeral costs, and supporting her family.

Howard Darren Hall
1978 ~ 2017
The brilliant, witty, kindhearted Howard Darren Hall passed away on October 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife, kids and his entire family who adored him. His struggle with depression was hidden from most of us, but it had settled deep into his gentle soul.It was a clear summer night with a full moon when Darren came into the world. He was born June 21, 1978, in Provo, UT - a birthday he would share with his baby brother 3 years later. He was a happy, sweet, OCD little man - never making a mess and wanting everything lined up just the way he envisioned. There was a spirit of joy that shined through his eyes. His quick wit made everyone laugh. His brilliant mind could tackle anything he wanted, from teaching himself to play guitar to riding a unicycle. He built computers and created unique woodwork designs to beautify his home. He loved animals, great and small, and even saved the little spiders that crossed his path. As a teen he worked at Harts Convenience Stores, always with a plan of what he was going to spend his hard earned money on. Sometimes that was simply a case of Somoas or Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies for him to snack on while he played music on one of his many guitars.

He graduated from American Fork High School in 1996, receiving the honor of being in the top 10% in the nation in math and science. He served as an LDS missionary in the Rapid City South Dakota Mission from 1997 to 1999 and graduated with an Associates in Science from UVU in 2001. With the influence of a favorite brother-in-law, Darren decided to find his niche in the financial world, working at Fidelity, Wells Fargo, and, for the last six years, at Silicon Valley Bank.

On May 18, 2002, he married the love of his life and best friend, Amber Lynette Christensen, in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. They loved to laugh and spend time together, even if just sitting quietly side by side. Darren's greatest joy came from their three amazing kids - Madison (13), Marli (11) and Lucas (8). He loved spending time with them, from taking them on one-on-one dates to playing games outside. He played chess, mastered hide 'n go seek, and loved asking and solving challenging riddles. He played endless hours of Minecraft with his son and even let his girls paint his toenails. They all looked forward to having family fun night once a week. He was an entertaining and exceptionally loving husband and dad.

Darren is survived by his wife, Amber Lynette Christensen Hall, his children Madison, Marli and Lucas; his parents, H Dean and Georgia G Hall; his siblings Lorelie (Noel) Cajigas, Travis (Susan) Hall, Ryan (Jodi) Hall and Tim (Lexi) Hall; his mother-in-law Karen Christensen; his sisters-in-law Allie (Jared) Forsyth, Amanda (Christopher) Farley, Becky (Wade) Spendlove, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Darren was also a generous organ donor. He's already saved two lives because of the donation of his kidneys.

Darren was loved deeply by all of us. We will forever miss his "Darrenisms", his bright grey-blue eyes, his beautiful smile, and his tender, joyful spirit that uplifted the lives of all who knew him. Thank you, Darren, for the shining impact you have left on our lives. You were one of a kind.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the American Fork 26th LDS Ward Chapel, 975 North 60 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the American Fork City Cemetery.
