  En este momento tan difícil, queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todas las personas que nos acompañaron durante este proceso: a quienes colaboraron con sus aportes, compartieron la campaña, enviaron mensajes de apoyo, estuvieron pendientes de su salud y nos sostuvieron con sus oraciones.
 Gracias a su solidaridad pudimos enfrentar parte de los gastos médicos, tratamientos, medicamentos, cuidados y necesidades que surgieron durante su lucha. Cada gesto, cada palabra y cada ayuda significaron muchísimo para nosotros y para nuestra familia.

 With deep sorrow in our hearts, we would like to share that today my father, Mr. Alexis Paulino Cedeño Rivera, went to be in the presence of God after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and the many complications this illness brought into his life.

 During this difficult journey, we want to express our most sincere gratitude to everyone who stood by us: those who contributed with donations, shared the campaign, sent messages of support, followed his health closely, and lifted us up in prayer.
 Thanks to your generosity and solidarity, we were able to face part of the medical expenses, treatments, medications, care, and needs that arose throughout his fight. Every gesture, every word, and every act of kindness meant more to us than words can express.
 Today, we are not writing to ask for anything, but to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts and to honor the memory of a father, grandfather, husband, and loved one who fought with strength, faith, and dignity until the very end.

 Hola, mi nombre es Alexis, y nuevamente me dirijo a ustedes con humildad y esperanza para pedir apoyo para una persona muy especial para nuestra familia: Alexis Paulino Cedeño, de 74 años, padre, abuelo, compositor, músico venezolano y un ser humano profundamente querido.
  A finales del año pasado iniciamos esta campaña en un momento muy difícil para su salud. Gracias a la generosidad de muchas personas, logramos recaudar aproximadamente USD $2,000, una ayuda que valoramos inmensamente y que nos permitió cubrir parte de sus tratamientos, medicamentos, controles médicos e insumos esenciales. Aunque la meta inicial era mayor, cada aporte recibido fue fundamental para darle estabilidad durante estos últimos 8 meses, en medio de una realidad compleja y de las enormes dificultades que existen en Venezuela para acceder de manera continua a atención médica, medicamentos, exámenes y cuidados especializados.
  Desde entonces, nuestra familia ha asumido con mucho esfuerzo todos los gastos adicionales. Hemos hecho todo lo posible para sostener sus tratamientos, proteger su salud y mantenerlo estable, pero hoy atravesamos una nueva contingencia que nos obliga a pedir ayuda nuevamente.  ¿Qué está pasando ahora?
 Alexis Paulino vive en Caracas y actualmente enfrenta una situación mucho más delicada debido a sus condiciones de salud y a las complicaciones recientes en el país tras la contingencia sísmica. Muchos edificios en Caracas han quedado con problemas en sus ascensores o con servicios interrumpidos, lo que representa un riesgo enorme para personas mayores, con movilidad reducida y enfermedades crónicas. En su caso, salir de casa para una emergencia, examen médico o traslado hospitalario puede implicar bajar muchos pisos por escaleras, algo que no puede hacerse sin apoyo, planificación y asistencia adecuada.
  A esto se suma su diagnóstico de Diabetes Tipo 2 insulino-dependiente, hipertensión, arritmia cardíaca, antecedentes de pie diabético, movilidad reducida y, actualmente, una condición renal avanzada: insuficiencia renal grado 5.
  La insuficiencia renal grado 5 significa que los riñones han perdido gran parte de su capacidad para filtrar toxinas, controlar líquidos y mantener el equilibrio de minerales esenciales como el potasio y el sodio. Esta condición requiere vigilancia constante, dieta estricta, control de líquidos, exámenes frecuentes, medicamentos, seguimiento médico y, en muchos casos, soporte renal especializado según la indicación médica 3 sesiones por semana de 3 horas cada uno. Para una persona con diabetes y problemas cardíacos, cualquier descompensación puede convertirse rápidamente en una emergencia.
  ¿Por qué necesitamos doblar el apoyo?
 Durante estos meses hemos logrado mantenerlo estable con muchísimo esfuerzo, pero la situación actual exige más recursos de los que nuestra familia puede cubrir sola. No se trata solamente de comprar medicamentos. Se requiere una red constante de cuidados, controles y prevención para evitar complicaciones graves.
  Actualmente necesitamos apoyo para cubrir:
  • Medicamentos para diabetes, presión arterial, corazón, estómago y control metabólico.  • Insulina, agujas, tiras reactivas, lancetas y monitoreo de glucosa.
 • Exámenes recurrentes de sangre y orina.
 • Control de urea, creatinina, sodio, potasio y glicemia.
 • Hemogramas, perfiles metabólicos y controles especializados.
 • Evaluaciones cardiológicas, electrocardiogramas, Holter, MAPA y ecocardiogramas cuando sean necesarios.
 • Consultas médicas, cuidados de enfermería y seguimiento domiciliario.
 • Dieta renal y diabética estricta, adaptada a sus condiciones.
 • Traslados médicos, apoyo para movilización y eventuales emergencias.
 • Gastos hospitalarios o de atención urgente si su condición se descompensa.
 En Venezuela, cada examen, cada medicamento, cada traslado y cada consulta representa un reto económico enorme. Y hoy, con la situación de los ascensores y la dificultad de movilizarlo, cualquier control médico puede convertirse en una emergencia logística y familiar.
  Nuestra petición
 Pedimos, con el corazón en la mano, que quienes puedan ayudarnos consideren hacer una donación o compartir esta campaña. Sabemos que muchas personas también atraviesan momentos difíciles, por eso cada aporte, por pequeño que parezca, tiene un valor inmenso para nosotros.

  Hello, my name is Alexis, and I am once again reaching out with humility and hope to ask for support for someone very special to our family: Alexis Paulino Cedeño, a 73-year-old father, grandfather, Venezuelan composer, musician, and deeply loved human being.
  At the end of last year, we started this campaign during a very difficult moment in his health journey. Thanks to the generosity of many people, we were able to raise approximately USD $2,000, a contribution we value more than words can express. That support helped us cover part of his treatments, medications, medical checkups, and essential supplies. Although we were not able to reach the original goal, every single donation made a real difference and helped provide stability during the past 8 months, despite the difficult conditions in Venezuela and the ongoing challenges of accessing timely medical care, medications, tests, and specialized support.
  Since then, our family has continued covering the remaining expenses with great effort. We have done everything within our power to maintain his treatment, protect his health, and keep him stable. However, we are now facing a new and urgent situation that has forced us to ask for help once again.
  What is happening now?
  Alexis Paulino lives in Caracas, Venezuela, and his current situation has become much more fragile due to his health conditions and the recent post-earthquake emergency affecting many buildings in the city. In several areas of Caracas, elevators are not working or building services have been disrupted, creating a serious risk for elderly people, patients with reduced mobility, and those living with chronic illnesses. In his case, leaving home for an emergency, a medical test, or a hospital visit may require going down many flights of stairs, something that cannot be done safely without proper assistance and planning.
  In addition to this, he has been diagnosed with insulin-dependent Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, a history of diabetic foot complications, respiratory difficulties, reduced mobility, Helicobacter-related gastritis, and now an advanced kidney condition: Stage 5 kidney failure.

Stage 5 kidney failure means that the kidneys have lost most of their ability to filter toxins, manage fluids, and maintain a safe balance of essential minerals such as potassium and sodium. This condition requires constant monitoring, a strict diet, fluid control, frequent laboratory tests, medications, medical follow-up, and, in many cases, specialized kidney support depending on medical indication. For a person who also has diabetes and heart conditions, any imbalance can quickly become an emergency.
  Why do we need to increase support now?
  Over the past months, we have managed to keep him stable with great effort, but the current situation requires more resources than our family can cover alone. This is not only about buying medication. It is about maintaining a continuous system of care, monitoring, prevention, and emergency readiness to avoid serious complications.

 Right now, we need help to cover:
  • Medications for diabetes, blood pressure, heart conditions, stomach issues, and metabolic control.
 • Insulin, needles, glucose test strips, lancets, and glucose monitoring supplies.
 • Frequent blood and urine tests.
 • Monitoring of urea, creatinine, sodium, potassium, and blood glucose.
 • Complete blood counts, metabolic panels, and specialized tests.
 • Cardiology evaluations, electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and echocardiograms when needed.
 • Medical consultations, nursing care, and home health support.
 • A strict kidney- and diabetes-friendly diet adapted to his condition.
 • Medical transportation, mobility assistance, and emergency-related expenses.
 • Hospital or urgent care expenses if his condition worsens.
 In Venezuela, every test, medication, medical visit, and transportation need represents a major financial challenge. And now, with elevators not working in many buildings and the difficulty of moving him safely, even a routine medical appointment can become an urgent logistical and family crisis.
  Our request
