Support for Abigail Liebert Family

On August 6, 2018 my granddaughter, Abigail Jean Liebert, was born at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI.
Abigail was born with CDH - Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia . CDH is a condition where part of her diaphragm is missing (In her case, it was 3/4 of her diaphragm). This caused her internal organs to be in the chest cavity, putting pressure on her developing lungs and heart. After birth, she was intubated with a ventilator that breathes for her. She was also moved over to the University of Wisconsin's Children Hospital (American Family Children's Hospital) for long term support and for her surgery to repair her diaphragm. Babies born with CDH average 1-2 months in the hospital.
Within 48 hours of being born, Abigail underwent major surgery at the Children's Hospital. Surgery took a bit longer than was anticipated but she pulled through without too many major complications.
Currently Abigail is still in the NICU at American Family Children's Hospital. She is getting better every day, but it is a slow steady march towards that big day of going home!
My son Sam and his wife Liz are both public servants in their careers. Liz has been a Special Education Teacher for the past 10 years, who has decided to stay home starting this fall to be a full time mother to Abigail. Sam is the Assistant City Administrator for the City of Monroe, WI and has been in that position now for about a year. Sam's allowed time off has been completely spent due to attending medical appointments before the birth and being with Liz for labor and delivery. His last day of paid time off is Wednesday, August 15th.
I'm hoping to help Liz and Sam because they need to spend as much time with their daughter as she recovers. I know Sam wants to spend as much time supporting both Liz and Abigail as a family. If I'm able to raise the necessary money for them to be together, Sam could take more unpaid FMLA 'Family Medical Leave Act' - and help them pay Abigail's medical bills, some of which is not covered by insurance.
Abigail is my my first grandchild. I've waited so long to have a grand baby to love and spoil. I hope you can donate to help Sam and Liz and Abigail to spend time together as a family. Thanks so much in advance.
