Support for Aaron Brengle and Family

On Saturday, September 21st Aaron and Caitlin were out enjoying a hike when a freak accident occurred- A tree Aaron grabbed onto uprooted and he fell 15 feet, tumbling another 10-15 feet. He was unconscious when Caitlin got down to him. Caitlin was without cell service and had to leave Aaron to run out and get help. Search and Rescue were able to rescue him via helicopter a number of hours later and transported him to Harborview Medical Center. As of Sunday evening he is still in the ICU fighting hard. He has yet to regain consciousness and is on a ventilator, but cognitive tests look promising. He has a very long road to recovery. His known injuries as of today are extensive: fractured facial bones incl. his orbital bone, broken jaw, fractured wrist, 4 broken ribs, fractured T1,T2, and T3 vertebrae, and a broken shoulder blade. We are hopeful that he can come off of the vent in the next 24 hours.

As you can imagine, this has been the scariest weekend of Caitlin's life. Not only is it terrifying to deal with all the uncertainties of Aaron's condition, but she is now saddled with how they will take care of their family. If you are able to help financially to lift some of the burden so that Caitlin can focus on Aaron's recovery and their baby boy, Liam, it would be so very appreciated. Funds will be directed to medical bills and monthly bills such as rent, insurance, and food. In the event that there is an excess of funds the money will be directed to Washington State Search and Rescue Organizations, who operate purely on a volunteer basis- Aaron would not be alive without them.

We (Bri and Tekoah- friends of Caitlin), will try our best to post regular updates here. We are so very grateful for all your love and support to Aaron and his family. We will also try to update with other ways in which you might be able to help in the next few weeks- meal train, kid care, etc.
