<div>Her children lost their mother to murder at the beach. Then police accused one of her sons of killing her.

Mary Lou Garcia was sitting at the beach, one of the things she loved most. In an instant, her life was taken.

That same night, her son was arrested and wrongfully accused of her murder. Imagine grieving your mother while believing your own brother killed her.

Those were some of the darkest days this family has ever lived through. Eventually the truth came out and he was released, but the damage and trauma from those days still live with him and the entire family.

The man responsible fled to Texas after killing her. He committed additional crimes there and played the victim. After years of waiting, he has finally been brought back to San Diego to face charges.

Now the family is preparing to sit in court and relive everything.

What hurts the most is knowing Mary Lou will never meet some of her grandchildren. Her children will never hear her voice again. The anger and heartbreak they carry is something no family should ever have to live with.

But they have come together and made one promise to each other: they will stand together and fight to make sure justice is served for their mother.

This fundraiser will help the family cover travel to court, missed work, and basic support while they go through what will likely be a long trial.

If you can help, please donate or share. Even a small amount helps this family stand strong while they fight for justice.

No family should have to go through this.
