Please help 9 year old Valery fight leukemia
Donation protected
Friends,
Twelve days ago our dear friend Luci Romero received the news every parent dreads: that her sweet, 9-year old daughter Valerie had leukemia. Photos of Valerie can be found at the end of this post.
Valerie has been undergoing chemo at Phoenix Children's Hospital and has just completed the first of 3 rounds of therapy. Her mom Luci has been sleeping on a cot in the hospital room to be near her while Luci's eldest daughter, Ashley, has been staying with relatives. Valerie, surrounded by her stuffed animals, has been incredibly brave and in good spirits despite the confusion and fear this must create for a fourth grader.
Luci is a single mom and works as a housekeeper in the valley, which means she does not have the sick pay or leave benefits many others do. She cannot work right now and as a result, she cannot bring in income. Although she tells me she is hopeful and so touched by the outpouring of prayers for her daughter, I know she is also facing a potential financial crisis and needs help.
The funds we raise here will be used to cover living expenses (bills etc) for the Romero family while Valerie is receiving treatment and Luci is unable to work. The Romero family (and our family) would be so very grateful if you could find it in your heart to help lessen the burden this family carries so that Luci can focus on her daughter's treatment, remain hopeful, and not stay up at night wondering how she is going to pay the bills. Anything helps! Thank you for reading and sharing this.
