Support Floreciente Mariposa's 2025 Toy Drive

Hello friends and family who have supported this journey for the last 6 years! We are back and appreciate your support in advance for 2025.

To those who are new we are "Floreciente Mariposa | Blooming Butterfly". A small non-profit organization which operates every year with the mission to provide toys for Three Kings Day to kids in the Dominican Republic.

We have dedicated ourselves for the past six years to gifting educational toys to children in the Dominican Republic through donations. Last year for 2024 we had a much slower year, but nonetheless we donated more than 300 toys. In 2023 with you help we donated over 800 toys visiting more than 8 towns in the vicinity of Bani, DR. This year we are calling for your help once again to help us surpass last year's goal.

This act of kindness began as an small act to give back, later becoming a yearly project fueled by the will to give back to those in need and most importantly to the town of our ancestors.

Our names are Fricely and Natacha. We are both from NY with Fricely's roots being from Bani and Natacha's from Moca. With our many visits to DR we started to notice that unlike in the USA where kids wake up every morning to run to the Christmas tree to find tons of gifts on the 25th this isn’t the case in the Dominican Republic not even on on the “ El día de los Reyes” (Three Kings Day). Most families do not have the means to provide their kids with gifts. This is mostly due to the economic situation of the island.

In 2019 we made an oath to provide educational gifts to those kids in need. Gifts that reflect as inspiration for kids to be doctors, chefs, carpenters , basketball players , stylists and beyond. We want our gifts to reflect the color of the skin of the girls who play with them and for boys to understand that they shouldn’t lose their lives for playing with a toy gun. We omit any toys that encourage violence . We believe that toys play an important in the development of a child.

In 2019 we started this project by donating to a local all girls orphanage but soon realized that this orphanage was getting a lot of help from a lot of other people as well so we decided to extend the help to other places. We decided to explore and drive to the neighboring towns where we saw that poverty filled a huge void.

For the first three years we used our own funds to fuel this mission and after many requests from others who also wanted to help we’ve extend our platform for anyone to donate who would also like to be part of Floresciente Mariposa. We are also accepting donations of new or gently used toys. If you have any toys you would like to donate please get in touch with us and we can facilitate pick-up.
