**In Loving Memory of Donald Fleissner: Honoring a Life of Strength & Service**
On June 6th, our world shattered when our beloved father and brother, Donald Fleissner—a proud Pittsburgh steam fitter, a selfless volunteer, and the heart of our family—was rushed to the hospital. Just one week later, we received the devastating diagnosis: stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer. Mere days after the news, he passed peacefully, leaving us all in grief and disbelief.
He wasn’t just a fighter—he was a *builder*. For decades, he served with honor in Pittsburgh’s Local 449 Steam Fitters Union, crafting the bones of this city with his calloused hands and unwavering work ethic. In retirement, he traded his tools for an apron, dedicating countless hours to the Bread of Life Food Pantry. To him, feeding neighbors wasn’t charity—it was community. It was love.
Now, as we navigate this agonizing loss—his son Chris, sisters Diana and Donna, and brother James—we face unexpected hospice and funeral expenses. In the spirit of his resilience and generosity, we humbly ask for your support.
**Your kindness will help us:**
Cover urgent funeral and medical costs
Honor Dad’s legacy by donating **20% of all funds** to the American Cancer Society’s pancreatic cancer research—fighting the disease that stole him too soon
Preserve our chance to grieve without crushing financial strain.
Don taught us that true strength lies in lifting others. If you ever shared a laugh with him at the union hall, received his quiet kindness at Bread of Life, or simply knew his steadfast heart—please consider helping his family in our darkest hour.
Every donation, no matter the size, is a torch in the darkness—a testament to the countless lives Dad warmed with his grit and grace. Thank you for keeping his legacy alive.
*With tearful gratitude,*
*Chris, Diana, Donna, James & the Fleissner Family*
