My name is Theresa, and I am seeking assistance for the immediate needs of my rescue cats.
Back in 2023, a gray tabby known as Boots, was struck by a car in my workplace parking lot and suffered a severe leg injury. I saw him struggling and called a local rescue. Luckily, we were able to save Boots but his leg had to be amputated. He recovered and I found him a loving home with a co-worker where he is thriving today. After this incident, I learned that there were 5 other abandoned cats suffering in the lot with no adequate food, shelter or clean water source so I set out on a mission to rescue all of them! I slowly worked on befriending each cat in preparation for rescue. While they remained in the lot, I maintained them the best I could with wet food, water, dewormer, Revolution and temporary shelters. Clooney, a beautiful female calico, was living under a bush by the employee entrance for many years I was told. The day I placed her in a carrier and took her home was an emotional one for me. Testing at my vet revealed she was suffering with hyperthyroid disease and evidence of mast cells. No one wanted to adopt her, so I gladly did. She was hospitalized for a short time but she is now receiving the treatment she needs and is enjoying a well-deserved retirement. My next rescue was Julius, a 7-month-old ginger. No one wanted to adopt him because has FIV, so I did. He is my happy little boy now, my pride and joy who never stops smiling. By the end of 2024, I was able to rescue Biggie, a meek 7-pound tabby with big feet. She and I developed a special bond so I adopted her too. Clooney, Julius and Biggie are happy, healthy cats today. They have no cares in the world and they rest their heads each night in safe, warm beds instead of the dirt under prickly bushes and cars in constant fear of predators and thunderstorms.
I am extremely proud and thrilled to say my mission was accomplished last week when I finally rescued the last two from the lot within 3 days of each other! Their names are Sibby and Fifi. Sibby is Biggie's sister.
I had not planned to rescue Fifi and Sibby within the same week; however, they were in imminent danger due to the recent insurgence of bobcats, coyotes and a 6-foot alligator in the area. I will provide them the loving forever home they so desperately deserve but, with that said, taking on two more community cats in less than 1 weeks' time is a huge undertaking. I could very much use some help getting them everything they need. Both require vetting, especially Fifi. He has been beaten up out there. He has several injuries including a broken tail and puncture wounds on both sides of his face from a recent attack which will require more extensive care and treatment. Both need parasite treatment of course.
I am requesting $3,000 to cover their immediate expenses for the following: Vet Fees, Cat Trees/Scratchers, Gates, Revolution, Carriers, Water Fountain, Litter/Litter Boxes/Mats/Litter Attract/Scoopers, Food/Dishes/Placemats/Can Lids/Treats, Bedding Interactive Toys, Catnip and Silvervine, Cleaning Products/Enzymatic Stain Removers, Feliway Diffusers, Brushes/Nail Trimmer
If you would like to help provide these sweet, deserving felines with all the things they missed out on in their years in the parking lot, I would be very grateful for it! Thank you for considering my request!
