Support Female Afghanistan Refugees

Seven female taekwondo athletes who fled Taliban controlled Afghanistan are now safe on Australian soil after a successful rescue mission lead by Australian Taekwondo, the Australian Government and Oceania Taekwondo.

After a high-risk evacuation to Australia, the group will start their new life in Melbourne and be part of the Australian community.

This GoFundMe has been created by Jaszac Investments to support them as they settle into their new life here in Australia. Lead by owner Jason Sourasis, Jaszac Investment works to build communities and improve the quality of life for those within them.

“With two daughters, the events that unfolded in Afghanistan last month and the devastating impact it will have on women’s rights, education and rightful place in society were very difficult to watch” said Jason Sourasis.

“We are extremely thankful that these 7 athletes were brought safely to Australia. Now we want to support them in building their new lives here and allow them to pursue their passion for Taekwando.”

Jaszac Investments CEO and Olympian, Daniel Trenton, said "Their story is one of courage and perseverance and having had interacted with them since their arrival, It is amazing that they remain positive despite having to abandon everything they knew and loved.

Their ages range from 16 - 25 and some of them have aspirations to represent Australia in Taekwondo at the Olympics in 2024 and beyond. Having refugee status, they may potentially realise that newly founded dream.

They are staying in Melbourne with limited contacts and resources to get by."

Your support will assist with providing them clothing, food and resources to help them settle in. They are very appreciative of their opportunity and any assistance provided.
