1. IF HE IS RELEASED TO HIS FAMILY IN THE US, HE WILL LIKELY NEED TIME TO FIND A NEW JOB
2. IF HE IS DEPORTED, THE FAMILY WILL RELOCATE TO HIS BIRTH COUNTRY
After being taken into police custody for questioning regarding a criminal case when he was a minor (10-13 yrs old), a beloved husband and father, was intercepted by ICE while on his way out of the building. He was not permitted a phone call until the following morning, leaving his family and friends worried and searching downtown Minneapolis to no avail.
Due to his DACA renewal status, he is currently being detained at a facility in Minnesota awaiting a hearing that has yet to be scheduled. With deportation on the table, not only have his wife and child been left unsure of when/if he'll be able to return home, they also are without their household's primary source of income.
The funds raised from this GoFundMe will be used for two months worth of:
-Food
-Gas
-Child's clothing for fall
-Phone calls to the detention center
-Bills
-Diapers and other necessities for the child
Any money raised over the initial amount of $1000 will be rolled over into further support for the family through legal fees and relocation if he is ultimately deported.
The ambush tactics of ICE have left many families confused and devastated. While the fight for more humane immigration policies is a large one, we at the very least have the opportunity to alleviate the stress on the families being affected.
