Hi friends! We are looking for donations for Evie to be able to complete in the Pitch Hit Run competition in Seattle on August 23rd.
If you know anything about Evie, she, being the middle child is completely hard on herself. She loves softball and has been playing comp softball for 5 years. She started as an 8-year-old on a 12u team and was one of the best players on the team.
She took a brief break from softball because her team lost at state when she was 9, again playing on a 12u team, and she felt it was her fault.
Many parents and players were so shocked by this because they saw she was an amazing player and should be playing.
Aurelia’s freshman year, one of the assistant coaches who knew Evie’s potential, took her out on the field during Aurelia’s practice and soft tossed her balls. She hit better than a majority of the girls on Aurelia’s team and they definitely noticed.
That was a big confidence boost and she decided to tryout for a comp softball team again.
Evie was the top qualifier in Alaska for her age to compete in the Pitch, Hit, Run competition. When I told her she qualified, she was so surprised but her immediate response was will she be able to go. The regional competition costs are the responsibility of the parents. But if she qualifies at the regional level, the national competition will be paid for.
I want Evie to be able to enjoy this experience so much and I hope my friends will be able to help her get this experience.
